Meals on Wheels/
Home Delivered Meals
The Home-Delivered Meals program, also known as Meals-On-Wheels, provides a hot nutritionally balanced meal for homebound seniors 60 years and older in Randolph County. Our wonderful volunteers deliver the meals around 11am Monday through Friday. When volunteers come to the door with a hot meal Monday through Friday, the food and visit help these seniors stay healthy and independent longer. Eligibility is based on route location. Seniors who are interested in receiving Home-Delivered Meals must be homebound with no one available to prepare lunch.
Frozen meals
The Frozen Meal Program is available to seniors 60 and older in Randolph County who qualify for home-delivered meals but who live outside the home-delivered meals routes. The box of frozen meals contain nutritionally-balanced meals that can be microwaved. Frozen meals must be picked up at your local center Monday through Thursday before 1pm.
How to apply?

Inclement Weather/Holidays
Home-delivered meals are not served when the Randolph County School System is closed or delayed for inclement weather. Shelf-stable meals are provided to Congregate Lunch clients and Home-Delivered Meal clients prior to the threat of inclement weather. Shelf-stable meals are to be utilized during the times that the senior center is closed due to weather.

Volunteers are the backbone of the home-delivered meals program. Not
only do they deliver hot meals to homebound seniors in the community, they also provide the seniors with companionship and a friendly face. Delivering meals takes about one hour. If you or someone you know can donate just one hour per month, please contact your local senior center for volunteer
information. Home-delivered meal routes originate from each senior center daily, Monday through Friday.
Interested in volunteering? Contact our Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator, Susanne Allen at 336-625-3389 ext. 212, send an email, or stop into your local senior center to learn more.
